Facing Waves: Paddling Barbados named best stand up paddling film at the 2017 Reel Paddling Film Festival

SUP Film WinnerHeliconia is pleased to announce that a full episode from their Facing Waves Television series has won top honors at the 2017 Reel Paddling Film Festival.

Now in its 6th season, Facing Waves is an adventure travel TV series that tells the story of the people, places and adventures of a destination through a paddlesports journey. Paddling Barbados follows the BIC SUP team as they explore the beautiful island of Barbados in search of the perfect wave. The paddlers travel across the island, taking part in a local SUP race, a traditional fish fry at the legendary Oistin’s and to surf one of Kelly Slater’s favorite waves – The Soup Bowl.

As the winner of the SUP category in the 2017 Reel Paddling Film Festival, the episode will be going on a World Tour to more than 120 cities. The episode is also currently airing on FOX Sports Networks, Outside Television and Nautical Channel – reaching ninety million households, in three languages and forty countries.
