Communications Manager

Full-time, salary TBD based on experience, January 2019 start date

The Position:

Heliconia produces a variety of adventure travel-related content throughout the year including, television programs, YouTube series’, and custom commercial work for brands and tourism partners. Heliconia is looking for a talented Communications Manager who is personable, self-guided, and very well organized, to work out of its Beachburg office. The Communications Manager will work under the direction of Heliconia’s VP, Brendan Mark, and will be an integral part of Heliconia’s production and marketing teams.

Communications Manager Job Duties:

  • Manage and lead the ongoing communications with project partners
    • Identify any partner requests / needs before filming
    • Gather promotional assets from partners (logos, taglines)
    • Deliver trip report to partners following each shoot
    • Notify partners of show airings, or web release dates
    • Deliver regular activity reports to project partners
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date partner database and communications calendar
  • Manage brand deliverables
    • Maintain database of partner deliverables
    • Watch productions to ensure partner deliverable expectations are met
  • Manage, write and distribute press releases
  • Manage and lead the ongoing communications with TV networks
  • Maintain and update company and project websites
  • Create broadcast / digital activity reports for internal use
  • Work closely with the VP to maintain positive partner relations
  • Work closely with the Sales, Marketing, Social Media, and Production teams as required
  • Review communications plan and identify ways to improve efficiencies
  • Work out of the Beachburg office full-time

  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • English literature / journalism / communications degree or training an asset
  • Minimum 4 years relevant work experience
