We’re Hiring—Part-Time Sales Assistant

Sales Assistant

Part-time Contract (16 – 20 hours per week), starting at $16/hr, immediate start date

Location: Beachburg, ON (in house position)

Job Purpose:  Acting in a supporting role to the Sales & Partnership Manager, the Sales Assistant will be tasked with searching and locating pertinent information to help progress the sales and sponsorships of various Heliconia projects. In particular, the Sales Assistant will do research, using various sources (mostly online) to locate new sales leads and opportunities, and to obtain the appropriate contact information for the sales department.

Sales Assistant Job Duties:

  • Research to find new sales leads and opportunities for the sales team
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date database
  • Work collaboratively with sales & marketing staff
  • Report directly to Sales & Partnership Manager
  • All other duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Motivated by finding vital information. Must have a “hunter” mentality
  • Excellent ability and use of the internet
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong organization (task/time management, prioritization, ability to quickly locate information as requested)
  • Knowledge of global geography
  • Knowledge and interest in outdoor activities a bonus
  • Sales interest and/or expertise a bonus

HELICONIA’S JORDAN TRAIL FILM SELECTED AS A TOP 3 FINALIST AT THE 2017 ADVENTURE TRAVEL WORLD SUMMIT

Heliconia is proud to announce recently earning a top position in an international film competition. While filming an episode of their adventure travel series, Epic Trails, the production team also produced a short film for entry in the 2017 Adventure in Motion Film Competition put on by the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA). With the help of local guides and the welcoming nature of Jordan’s Bedouin community, the film explores the newly developed Jordan Trail—a 450-mile hiking trail traversing the length of the country through some of the world’s most inspiring landscapes and historical sites, including the ancient city of Petra.

“We traveled Jordan from North to South along the incredible Jordan Trail; affording us what can only be considered a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the rich diversity and beauty of this country,” explains Epic Trails host, Eric Hanson. “Exploring the many regions touched by the Jordan Trail more than exceeded my expectations and it was truly special for all of us on so many levels.”

Selected from over 140 submissions, the film was featured as one of the top three finalists at the 2017 Adventure Travel World Summit in Salta, Argentina and shown to over 700 industry delegates from 54 countries.

Deputy Director of the Jordan Tourism Board, North America, Janine Jervis, applauds the opportunity to have Jordan featured in such a film and hopes it “will entice travelers to come and capture the generosity of the Jordanian people and their eagerness to make all visitors feel welcome.”

Sportskool, an on-demand sports and fitness coaching network launches Facing Waves series on September 18th, 2017 to nearly 50 million TV households

Sportskool, an on-demand sports and fitness network dedicated to providing comprehensive coaching and athletic training for all skill levels, today announced a new partnership with Heliconia, an award-winning video production company specializing in outdoor video production.

Starting in September 2017, Sportskool and Heliconia will debut the adventure travel TV show, Facing Waves. Now in its sixth season of filming, Facing Waves  tells the story of the people, places and adventures of various destinations on a paddle sports journey.
